OUR STORY

It started with “this sucks less”

In 2021, the highest praise a support AI could earn was “this sucks less.” A customer told us exactly that — she ran support at a fast-growing company and had tried everything: chatbots that couldn’t hold a thought, phone trees that made callers mash zero to escape, support scattered across a dozen disconnected tools, and vendors charging like the AI did the work when it really just did the hype. Every pitch sounded identical, and nobody produced results.

We’d been burned by the same industry she had, so we didn’t lead with magic. We started as a chatbot — a good one, but a chatbot. Customers told us where it broke, and we kept going: from a bot that answered to an agent that acted, then a voice AI that could pick up the phone and actually help without a phone tree, then quality audits and agent assist that scored every conversation and amplified our human teams instead of replacing them.

Today Auralis is one platform with one brain — chat, agent, voice, audit, and assist — resolving support the way customers actually reach out. Great support was never ticket deflection; it’s a customer walking away feeling taken care of, whether they typed the question or said it out loud. Every stage has a customer’s fingerprints on it. We didn’t guess our way here — we were told our way here. And we’re still listening.

The Auralis Story

It started with three words from a customer: “this sucks less.” In 2021 that was the highest praise support AI could earn — broken bots, endless phone trees, rising costs, and vendors selling hype. This is the story of how our customers helped us build support that finally works, on chat and on the phone.

Building a Legacy

  1. 2021

    Chapter One: The Chatbot

Auralis AI was founded by Jude Rosario, Thomas Gribbestad, and Vinay Kumar with one mission: help businesses retain customers through smarter, AI-powered support. Our first conversational AI engine handled 70% of inquiries automatically — a chatbot honest enough to know when it was out of its depth. “This sucks less,” one early customer told us. It was the best review in the category, and the start of everything.

  2. 2022

Chapter Two: From Bot to Agent

The leap wasn’t a better script — it was giving the AI the ability to act: look things up, complete tasks, and carry context instead of forgetting it. As customers across SaaS, fintech, and e-commerce pushed us, we deepened integrations with leading helpdesks including Zendesk, Freshdesk, and Intercom, and “this sucks less” started turning into “this actually helped.”

  3. 2023-2025

Chapter Three: Voice, Audit & Assist

We launched the SupportOS platform — a unified AI layer with Autopilot, Assist, Audit, Answer, and Knowledge Center — and gave support a voice, so callers could speak naturally and be helped without a phone tree. Quality audits scored every conversation, spoken calls included, while agent assist amplified our human teams in real time. Auralis achieved SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, GDPR, and HIPAA compliance, reached $2.1M in bootstrapped revenue with a 19-person team, and delivered 40–60% cost reductions with a 95% knowledge accuracy rate.

    Chapter Four: The All-in-One

Fragmentation was the enemy all along, so we became one platform instead of one more tool. Auralis expanded into ITSM, ERP, and Field Support, serving enterprise clients across 8+ industries and 100+ countries. With offices in San Francisco and Molde, Norway, Auralis now powers support operations for organizations including Norwegian Cruise Line, Popeyes, Visma, and CA.gov — processing over 10 million support interactions across chat and voice and integrating with 500+ tools.
