Meter read
A meter read is the page or click count collected from a device to drive usage-based billing.
A meter read is the count of pages or clicks a device has produced, collected each billing cycle to calculate usage-based charges under a managed-print or cost-per-copy contract.
In context
Meter reads arrive from device monitoring tools, customer portals, and email, and they have to be validated against history and contract terms before billing. Errors and missing reads are a common source of invoice disputes.
